# Rezzy vs Phorest: Who Fits the Independent Studio?

**TL;DR:** Rezzy vs Phorest comes down to size and commitment. Phorest is a full salon suite sold by quote on a one-year contract, "perfect for 3+ staff" in its own words; Rezzy publishes its price, $19 to $79 a month, lets you cancel from the billing page, and is built for solo and small-team studios.

---

Phorest's pricing page has no plan prices on it. It has a Request a quote button, a Book a demo button, and no free trial. For a twelve-chair salon, that is a normal way to buy software. For two people sharing a room, it means a sales call before you know the number, and a contract before you take a single booking.

## What does Phorest cost?

Phorest does not publish its plan prices. Its [US pricing page](https://www.phorest.com/us/pricing/) lists four salon plans, Starter, Grow, Complete Advantage and Elite, and every one ends in "Request a quote." The quote form asks how many employees and locations you have. The FAQ is direct about trials: "we don't offer a free trial."

What the page does publish is the shape:

- **Every plan includes unlimited staff and unlimited devices.** For a big team, that is generous.
- **Texts are metered on the entry plan.** Starter pays 5 cents per SMS. Grow includes 1,000 free a month, Complete Advantage 5,000, and Elite 27,000.
- **The extras climb with the tier.** Loyalty, an online store and Reserve with Google arrive on Grow. A salon-branded app, two-way texting and memberships come with Elite, or as add-ons.
- **Setup is done for you.** Every plan includes import of your clients, staff, services and products, plus free training for life.

So nobody outside Phorest can put its annual cost in a table, and we will not guess. **Get the quote in writing, with the contract term on it, before you compare anything.**

## The contract is the part a small studio feels

Phorest's [US terms](https://www.phorest.com/us/termsandconditions/) are plain about the commitment. The agreement runs for one year and renews itself for another year unless you give written notice at least two months before the anniversary. Leave early and "you will owe us the subscription fees due for the remainder of the contracted period." The US terms also put disputes under Irish law, in the Irish courts.

Canceling is a conversation, not a button. Phorest's [cancellation article](https://support.phorest.com/hc/en-us/articles/26996768960274-How-can-I-cancel-my-Phorest-subscription) sends you to a form to "schedule a quick chat," which it says helps "clarify any outstanding contract terms."

None of this is hidden or unusual for software sold by a sales team, Mindbody's included. It just weighs differently at two chairs. Picture a two-person studio that signs in October. In March, the second stylist moves away. The contract runs to October anyway, and if nobody sends notice by early August, it renews to the October after that.

Your client list takes planning too. Phorest's [export article](https://support.phorest.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019038240-How-can-I-export-my-data-from-Phorest) shows how to pull clients, transactions and future appointments yourself, report by report, free of charge. Ask Phorest to produce the export instead and the same article says it "may involve a charge." The terms add that an engineer takes up to 15 business days, only once every fee is paid, and that Phorest may delete your data 60 days after the contract ends.

## What does Rezzy cost, and what do you sign?

Rezzy's [prices are on the homepage](/#pricing). Solo is $19 a month for one person. Studio is $39 with up to five team members included. Unlimited is $79 with unlimited team members, plus [emails on autopilot](/guides/put-your-emails-on-autopilot) and campaigns. Annual billing costs less: $9, $15 and $19 a month at the founding price for the first 30 studios, then $190, $390 and $790 a year.

There is no free trial here either. You pick a plan on day one, and a 30-day money-back guarantee stands behind it. You can cancel anytime from the billing portal, and the plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. Past that guarantee, an annual plan is paid a year ahead with no refund for unused months, so pick monthly if you are unsure.

Payments run through the Stripe or Square account you own. [Deposits and full prepayment](/guides/take-deposits-or-full-payment) are on every plan, and the money settles to your account on your processor's normal schedule. Rezzy never holds it.

![Rezzy's team settings listing three practitioners, each with their own sign-in and a bookable toggle](/blog_images/screenshots/team-members.png)

*Three people on the Studio plan, owner included. Two more fit at the same $39.*

> **Want to see the price before the sales call?** Rezzy runs booking, reminders, deposits and a client book that builds itself, at a flat price you can cancel from the billing page. [Take a booking today](/signup).

## What Phorest gets right

- **Marketing on every plan.** Phorest puts its full marketing suite, email and SMS reminders, and review requests on Starter. Rezzy's autopilot emails and campaigns live on the $79 Unlimited plan, and they are email only.
- **Text messages.** Phorest texts reminders on every plan and sells two-way texting on Elite or as an add-on. Rezzy does not send text reminders today. If your clients only answer texts, weigh that.
- **Someone else does the move.** Phorest's team imports your data and trains new staff at no extra cost. Rezzy's import guesses your column mapping, but you run it yourself.
- **The front counter.** Integrated card terminals, stock management, an online store and a branded client app. Rezzy has no hardware and no inventory.
- **No commission.** Phorest [says plainly](https://www.phorest.com/us/compare/phorest-vs-fresha/) that it charges no commission on bookings and runs no consumer marketplace. Rezzy takes the same position, so call it a draw.

## What Rezzy does better

- **A price you can read and a plan you can leave.** Published prices, monthly billing, and a cancel link in the billing portal. No notice window and no fees for the rest of a term.
- **The money path.** Through PhorestPay, Phorest "will take the payment on your behalf" ([PhorestPay FAQ](https://support.phorest.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018890559-PhorestPay-FAQ)) and pays it out to your bank the [next business day](https://support.phorest.com/hc/en-us/articles/12851378968978-When-should-I-expect-PhorestPay-transactions-to-reach-my-bank-account). Its deposits and stored cards run through PhorestPay too. Rezzy connects the Stripe or Square account you own, so the merchant relationship and every saved card stay with you if you leave.
- **Your client list, on demand.** [Export the whole book as a CSV](/guides/export-your-client-list) from the Clients page on any plan, paused or canceled included. No reports to stitch together, and no engineer queue.
- **Sized for small studios.** Every plan carries deposits, Google review requests, standing appointments, reports and a needs-rebooking list that flags regulars who have drifted.

![Rezzy's client import screen matching each column in an uploaded file to a client field, with email marketing consent options below](/blog_images/client-import-mapping.png)

*Rezzy guesses each column from your file's headers. Nothing imports until you confirm, and the whole batch can be undone for 7 days.*

## Which one should you pick?

**Pick Phorest if you run a salon with a team and a front counter.** Three or more staff, retail on the shelves, clients who answer texts, and an owner who would rather hand the setup and the training to someone else. Phorest is built for that salon and says so on its own pricing page. If you sign, put the contract anniversary on your calendar, and the notice deadline two months before it.

**Pick Rezzy if you are one to five people and the book is the business.** Your growth is regulars and referrals, you want the money in your own Stripe or Square, and you want to see the price, and the way out, before you commit. That is the shape [salons](/solutions/salons) of two or three chairs tend to take, and the shape Rezzy is built for.

Already on Phorest? Send written notice at least two months before your contract anniversary. Pull your clients and future appointments through Phorest's reports while the account is still live, then bring the CSV in with Rezzy's [client import](/guides/import-your-client-list). Our guide to [switching booking apps without losing your client list](/blog/how-to-switch-booking-apps-without-losing-your-client-list) walks through the order.
