Review Request Email Templates for Salons (Copy and Paste)
A good review request email goes out the day after the visit, thanks the client by name for the service they had, and gives one link straight to your Google review box. Keep it under 100 words. If they don’t click, send one gentle follow-up about a week later, then stop.
The templates below cover the first ask, the follow-up, a longtime regular, a first-time client, and a client who told you they loved it. For why reviews matter, see how to get more Google reviews for your studio.
When should you send a review request email?
Send it the day after the visit. It’s still fresh, so they can say something specific.
- First ask: the day after the visit.
- One follow-up: about a week after the visit, only if they haven’t clicked.
- Then stop. A third email reads as pressure.
Ask every client the same way.
What should a review request email say?
- Their first name.
- The service. “Your balayage on Tuesday” beats “your recent visit.”
- One link. Straight to your Google review box, which you’ll find in your Google Business Profile.
- An easy out. “If anything wasn’t right, just reply to this email.” It gives an unhappy client a private way to tell you.
- No incentive. No discount, gift, or prize draw. Google’s rules don’t allow paying or rewarding for reviews or asking only happy clients.
What should a review request email look like?
Swap the brackets.

What should you reply when a client leaves a review?
Reply in Google, under the review. Anyone can read it, so keep it short and never mention anything private about the visit.
For a 5-star review:
Thank you so much, [Name]! It was a pleasure doing your [service], and we’re so glad you love it. See you next time.
For a critical review:
Hi [Name], thank you for telling us. I’m sorry the visit didn’t go the way you hoped. I’d like to make it right, so please email us at [email] and I’ll reach out personally.
What are the do’s and don’ts of review request emails?
| Do | Don’t |
|---|---|
| Ask every client the same way | Ask only the clients you think loved it |
| Send the day after the visit | Batch ask everyone months later |
| Use one link to your Google review box | List Google, Facebook, and three other sites |
| Give an easy way to reply if something went wrong | Pre-screen with a rating before showing the link |
| Keep it to one ask and one follow-up | Offer a discount, gift, or prize for a review |
Short, specific, and the same for everyone.

How does Rezzy send review requests for you?
Rezzy offers the ask after every completed visit, and you decide each time. Full setup is in ask for Google reviews automatically.
- Your review link is the switch. Go to Marketing, then Reviews, and paste your Google review link. With it saved, review requests are on. Clear it to stop them. Only the account owner sees this page.
- You say yes on each visit. When you or a team member mark a visit Completed, Rezzy asks whether to send a Google review request. Nothing goes out without your yes, and the ask arrives about a day later.
- One follow-up, then it stops. About a week after the visit, Rezzy sends one reminder, only if the client hasn’t clicked, at the hour you pick on the Reviews page.
- Both emails come prewritten. They fill in the client’s first name, the service, and your studio name. Edit them, send yourself a test, or reset to the original.
- Built-in limits. No gating and no incentives. One ask per visit, at most one per client every 90 days, and never again once they’ve clicked through to Google.
- Consent and unsubscribes. The ask is about the client’s own visit, so it doesn’t wait for marketing consent. Anyone who unsubscribed is skipped. Replies go to the account owner’s inbox.
- Ask one client now. Open their page in Clients, choose Actions, then Ask for a review. Team members can do this too, and the client needs a completed visit.
- Your own wording. To send a template above as a one-off, see email a client. One-off emails only reach clients who opted in to marketing email. Saving them as reusable templates is on Unlimited. See save and reuse email templates.
Review requests are on every paid plan: Solo, Studio, and Unlimited. See plans on the homepage.
