What no-shows cost you in a year

Most owners carry no-shows as an irritation rather than a figure. Two numbers turn them into one you can act on.

How this is worked out

  • The year is 52 weeks. No allowance for closures, which makes this a slight overstatement if you take real holidays.
  • Late cancels count as misses. A cancellation an hour before is an empty chair with extra steps, unless you can refill it.
  • Nothing is deducted for product or time saved by the client not arriving. For most appointment work the chair, the rent, and your day are already committed.
  • The deposit column is what those deposits would add up to, not what you would keep. Deposits work by preventing the miss.
